Trump on Boston Radio Show: Mass. DA’s “Don’t Mind Crime”
Calling in to Boston Herald Radio, the president criticized a lawsuit seeking to bar ICE from courthouses.

Appearing on Boston Herald Radio Wednesday, President Trump for the first time weighed in on a bid from two Massachusetts district attorneys to target ICE with a lawsuit, saying the DAs “don’t mind crime.”
Suffolk DA Rachael Rollins and Middlesex DA Marian Ryan filed suit Monday, hoping to bar immigration authorities from arresting undocumented people who show up for scheduled appearances at state courts. The prosecutors and immigrant groups say that ICE’s presence is disruptive and can discourage immigrants from testifying or appearing for court dates. During his 20-minute interview on the program hosted by pro-Trump Herald columnist Adriana Cohen, the president accused Rollins and Ryan of undermining efforts to deport members of gangs, including MS-13.
“I think it’s a sad situation and very unfortunate for Massachusetts, a great place that I know very well. So many friends up there. These are people that probably don’t mind crime. They don’t mind what’s going on,” he said. “You look at MS-13, they say in the world there’s nothing more evil. These are some very, very bad people. To try and protect them, I don’t think so.”
“For her to be saying that, she’s got to live with it,” Trump continued, without saying which of the two DAs he was referring to. “She’s got to live with her own conscience.”
The president gave his thoughts on a number of topics, including the appearance of his attorney general William Barr in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee Wednesday. He also called on Senator and presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren to resign, pointing to her past claims of Native American heritage, which he said helped her advance her career before she entered politics.
“She defrauded the public for a long time and she should really be the one to resign, hence the name Pocahontas,” he said, referring to his favorite inflammatory nickname for the senator. “She has gone through colleges and gotten jobs and gotten in all because she supposedly had Indian blood and then it turned out that wasn’t true. So she’s defrauded the public, she’s defrauded the college and I guess other places of work and she should be the last one to be talking.”
A September Boston Globe report found no evidence that Warren’s claims impacted her career.
