Steve Carrell, Brad Pitt, and More Bet Big in The Big Short Trailer

'The banks got greedy and we can profit off their stupidity.'

The Big Short trailer just hit the web, and boy is it jam-packed with Hollywood A-listers.

Based on Michael Lewis’s bestselling book The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine, the upcoming flick profiles the few individuals who actually profited during the financial crisis of 2007-2010 by betting against the market.

The Office star and Massachusetts native Steve Carrell plays famed hedge fund manager Steve Eisman, who proudly proclaims during the trailer, “The banks got greedy and we can profit off their stupidity.”

If only that were the case for everyone.

Joining Carrell is a who’s who list of leading men, including Academy Award-nominated actors Brad Pitt and Ryan Gosling. The Big Short will also star Christian Bale, who won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in 2010 opposite Mark Wahlberg in The Fighter.

Plus, as if the cast wasn’t stacked already, Melissa Leo, Selena Gomez, and the incredible Marissa Tomei are set to appear in the film as well.

The Big Short is being helmed by Anchorman director Adam McKay, so expect a ton of laughs when it hits theaters on December 23.
