Salon Mario Russo Sets Up Shop at the Seaport
Salon Mario Russo is now open in the seaport, marking the second Boston location for the luxury hair care brand.
The 1,300 square foot space boasts an aesthetic just as sleek as the blowouts its stylists perform. Situated in the high-end residential complex Twenty Two Liberty, the recently furnished salon features an all-white interior dotted with avant-garde paintings. To complete the modern ambiance, floor-to-ceiling glass windows allow customers to gaze out over the waterfront while under the scissors or blow dryer. This trendy atmosphere proves the perfect complement to the new location, which attracts young professionals from the burgeoning business district.
“This whole area has grown like crazy,” says founder Mario Russo. “The opportunity to be in such a highly sought-after location is very exciting.”
To match its luxe setting, the salon aims to offer the ultimate quality experience. Clients can get their hair washed and treated at the Lather Lounge, which features massage chairs, then head to the styling section for a cut, color, blowout, or updo, among a variety of other services. For those particularly picky about their locks, clients can select stylists with different levels of training, ranging from junior to designer status. And if that wasn’t enough, every service comes with a complimentary cappuccino or cup of tea.
“People have less time nowadays, so we definitely try to pamper them as much as we can,” said Russo.
According to Russo, popular options include a Kerastase treatment, great for hydrating hair damaged by winter winds, as well as nontraditional colors reminiscent of the season, including “faded blues, icy whites and softer pinks.”
The salon is open Tuesday-Saturday. Treat yourself to a visit to the latest seaport location at 22 Liberty Drive or the flagship salon at 9 Newbury Street in Back Bay.
