Feel-Good Story: Boston Medical Center Surgical Robot Saves Life, Voice of New York Student. There is only one place in the northeast where a person facing major throat surgery can go under the faster, safer, less invasive knife of a Transoral surgical robot, and that’s Boston Medical Center. Not long ago, the hospital put its machine to work on New York’s Nick Heald, a high school singer with a rare throat cancer that threatened not only his voice, but possibly even his ability to eat and speak normally.
