Jane Hopes to Be Swift
Next Monday, scads of runners will take to the streets for the 112th running of the Boston Marathon. We already know that Lance Armstrong will be there, along with Lindsey Webster, Boston Daily’s adopted marathoner. But another dignitary will also be in attendance.
Former Massachusetts Acting Gov. Jane Swift.
Boston.com caught up with the mother of three as she squeezes in training runs after getting her brood off to school. It will be Swift’s first marathon, and she’s running to raise money for Children’s Hospital Boston.
She doesn’t hold out much hope for finishing first. “I suspect that Gov. Patrick won’t be crowning me on the 21st,” she says with a laugh. We just hope Mitt Romney doesn’t show up and ask her to drop out of the race. History has shown she has a hard time saying no to him.
