Gone are the (hot) days of patiently waiting for the ice cream truck to make its rounds. In today’s world, your frozen treat cravings can be satisfied by Uber drivers.

Friday, July 15 marks #UberIceCream—when the ride-hailing app offers to deliver ice cream to city dwellers around the globe. In Boston, Uber partnered with Boston Harbor Cruises to deliver ice cream by boat and by car (or as they put it, by land and by sea).

Uber’s treat of choice is Magnum bars. Whether delivered by UberSUV or by harbor vessel, the going rate is four ice cream bars for $10. Customers max out at 10 bars, which go for $2.50 each after the first four. The on-demand ice cream window is open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

If you like the idea of purchasing ice cream bars from a boat, head to one of the docks on the map below.
