An edgy new lighting line comes to the Bright Group.

Lighting designer Jonathan Browning doesn’t care much about trends—or his competition. “We never look at other firms’ current work,” he says. “I find most lighting today to be trend-driven and therefore very similar and repetitive. Unoriginal in my eyes.” Harsh? Maybe. But he has a point—and a new collection to back it up. Available at the Bright Group in the Boston Design Center, Browning’s latest lighting line blends elements of modern and industrial design, manifesting in striking table lamps, sconces, pendants, flush-mounts, and chandeliers you’d be hard-pressed to find anywhere else—including this jewelry-like brass fixture with a lead-crystal shade. The craftsmanship is top-notch, too, with artisans casting each piece in brass or bronze before polishing the finished product by hand—a timeless process for timeless design.
