Bronwyn Screening the USA vs. Germany World Cup Match

This year, the outplacement firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas reported that the NCAA tournament cost American companies an estimated $1.2 billion “for every unproductive work hour.” I can’t wait to see what the numbers are like during Thursday’s USA vs. Germany World Cup soccer match.
To celebrate, Bronwyn chef Tim Wiechmann will be opening his Union Square tavern and showing the game on two new televisions. Typically only open for dinner service during the week, Bronwyn is making an exception with the American squad on the brink of soccer history. Wiechmann will be featuring a special lunch menu with paprika chips, house pretzels, GurkenSalat, and the Brondog, recently named one of America’s best hot dogs by Travel + Leisure. Beverages from the full bar will be offered, including Bronwyn’s selection of hard-to-find German beers and wine. Excluding American football, the 18.2 million viewers who tuned into the ESPN broadcast of the USA vs. Portugal World Cup game made it the most-watched sporting event in network history. This should be even bigger.
