Boston Stone Restoration

Q: What were your goals for this project, and how did they align with the homeowner’s goals?

When this Mashpee, MA homeowner’s marble counters were becoming etched and damaged, we knew how to help. Boston Stone Restoration provides and installs an innovative coating that forms a durable, super-thin barrier that prevents the toughest stains and caustic solutions from etching stone surfaces and even supplies a 10-year warranty. That means no more worrying over limes, red wine, and spilled drinks! Cleanup is a breeze and the homeowner has peace of mind knowing the work was done by trusted, highly trained professionals.

Q: Why do you love this project?

Acid-sensitive stones like marble, limestone, and onyx are prone to etching and staining. When acidic substances come in contact with these stone types, the acid actually begins to eat away at the surface, creating dull spots known as etching. An etch is not a stain and cannot be prevented by using a stone sealer. So should you rip out your natural stone? Definitely not—just look at the results! Some of the most beautiful stone surfaces can be made family-friendly with a little stone protection and prevention.
