To kick off 2016, one of Boston’s best-known chefs announced her next act. Jody Adams will open Saloniki this March in the bustling Fenway neighborhood, Zagat first reported.

Adams, the James Beard Award-winning chef/owner behind Rialto in Harvard Square and Trade in the Financial District, is partnering with Trade cohorts Eric Papachristos and Jonathan Mendez on the new Greek concept.

Saloniki—named for Papachristos’ native Thessaloniki—will showcase street food of the Aegean Sea port city. The “fine casual dining” restaurant will have customizeable pita platters, brown rice bowls, and salads; with add-ons like spicy lamb meatballs, honey-braised pork shoulder, and zucchini feta fritters; topped with house-made tzatziki, spicy whipped feta, charred vegetables, and the like.

The new restaurant is under construction at 132 Brookline Ave., near the newest Wahlburgers. Saloniki is also carving out its space on the Web: Instagram and Twitter pages launched this week.
