The Fox television reality cooking show MasterChef is now casting its eighth season, and one round of open call auditions is coming to Boston this month. The tryouts are open to any adult who has never worked in a professional kitchen before. Filming will take place from August-November.

MasterChef, a competition for amateur cooks, premiered in the U.S. in 2010, hosted by Gordon Ramsay. The seventh season, with Ramsay and Christina Tosi (Momofuku Milk Bar) on board as hosts, kicks off June 1, 2016.

The show asks home cooks to bring a signature recipe to the table, among other culinary challenges, like technical skills tests, using “mystery” ingredients, head-to-head cook-offs, team restaurant takeovers, and more.

For the open call, candidates must bring a one-dish meal to impress an on-site panel of judges. There will be no access to any kitchen equipment, and participants have only three minutes to plate their dish before presenting it. The producers see the chefs in groups, so make sure you bring your A-game and that your recipe stands out.

The Boston open call is Saturday, April 23, from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.
