Is This the Fanciest Orthodontists’ Office Ever?
A visit to the dentist or orthodontist may never be a pleasurable experience—but a new boutique practice is doing its best to change that.
Smilebar, which recently opened in the Back Bay, claims to be Boston’s first Invisalign-only office, focusing solely on helping clients discreetly straighten their teeth. In its Columbus Avenue practice, Smilebar scans your teeth to create a 3D model of your smile, then uses 3D imaging to get the most detailed anatomical information possible. Aligners are ready roughly two weeks after the initial appointment.
To hammer home that this is not the dental hygienist’s station of your youth, Smilebar’s space was designed to evoke the aesthetic of a spa or luxury boutique. Clients even leave with gift bags stocked with designer toothpaste, mouthwash, and cups.
Treatments take an average of nine months to take effect. Customers can expect to pay roughly $5,400 for an enhanced set of pearly whites.
